TATATACHÁN TACHÁN..........TCHAICOVSKY!

Today, In the First Grade, We have met a new composer: Tchaicovsky! We have been talked about his life and above all his works.

We have learned what is a Suite (=ballet. Music form) and We have listened, imagined and drawn feelings about one of the most important work of Tchaicovsky: "The Nutcracker"

Firstly, We worked one part of The Nutcraker the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy", http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8At8zfh_o3E

Secondly, like Walt Disney made a Fantasy Film, We draw and coloured our feelings.

Thirdly, We moved our body with the music.

After, We recognized the instruments and learned one peculiar instrument: The celest

Then, We listened and watched one part of Fantasia (Walt Disney) where the Nutcracker´s music appears

And finally, We were clapping our hands with the beat of this Suite.

More about Pyotr Il´yich Tchaicovsky and the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"

Tchaicovsky
(Born in 1840- Died in 1893)

Tchaicovsky was a Russian composer full of feelings. He felt sad more than he felt happy. Poor Tchaicovsky... :( !

But sometimes he didn´t laugh or cry. Instead, he took his pen and paper and wrote music. All his feelings poured into his music.

This music can make other people laugh or cry when they hear it. And people love listening to it even when they cry! so......What do you feel?

Thaicovsky wrote a lot of Suites. A Suite is the form of Ballet music. Ballets are full of music and dancing. In the Suites there are dances and marchs.

This ballet The Nutcracker and this dance "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" are about a little girl called Clara. She dreams that she and her imaginary prince travel to a magical land full of sweets!
The people in this Land of Sweets are dancing including the Sugar Plum Fairy.....

and...the next day......more!

Thaicovsky!
