WINTER RECIPES
What you'll need
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
24 pretzel sticks
sprinkles and nuts, (optional)
How to make it
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Stir until smooth.
Dip half of the pretzel stick into the chocolate. (If it starts to get thick, warm in the microwave for 8-10 seconds.)
Dip the coated end of the pretzel into sprinkles, nuts, tinted shredded coconut, or anything for extra color. Stand up in a glass or lay on a cookie sheet (prepared with cooking spray or lined with waxed paper) until set.
Tips:
Choose sprinkle colors to celebrate holidays, like red and white for Valentine's Day or orange and brown for Halloween.
Place in a colored cellophane bag with a sparkly twist-tie for a presentation that will rival those from boutique-type candy stores.
Lay the pretzels in a box lined with waxed paper. Have your child decorate the box's cover with stickers, drawings, or even photos to personalize your gift.
What you'll need
Pretzel Sticks - several dozen if using the smaller ones
White chocolate chips - a 12 ounce bag covers quite a bit
1 tablespoon shortening
Several colors and shapes of sugar, sprinkles and confetti
How to make it
Melt chocolate chips and shortening together until smooth.
Dip the top third of each pretzel stick into the melted chocolate.
Sprinkle with sugar or confetti sprinkles.
Set on waxed paper, parchment or foil and let stand until set, about 15 - 30 minutes.
